Rumination on the death of a bee
You were not there yesterday
lost from the anthem of hive
foetal position proboscis to sting
their song of home still present
as the flutter of life spiralled
resting on the ring of knotted huon pine
the whispers of honeycomb melody
two beats within flap and fall
what spectrum tempted you here
to lie now brittle wings dry
out of the scent of a brooding noon
pollen dust spilled on the deceitful rug
was it the surprise of venture
a dip and tumble of veering course
a chance of discovery beyond
the unrealized knowing of from?

Great poem. Happy new year đ

They only live for about a month I think. Bees are attracted to royalty too. Perhaps it chose you and your temple to die
