Calf
SHOCK cold rain
falling snort breathe can’t feel
where what used to be home
tongue licking pushing hard wobbling underneath
stagger fall tumble shove away
stretching up mouth want to cling on
ground not sure if the dirt is blood
or smell green of sometimes inside now out
black whack of wing and thud of kick
and noise harsh then soft and wet to ear
sounds like in head where nose
and feet were placed before shiver
hard brushing like grate on skin feel shake all over
and push again to other side
ground lifting away or air shiny to take back can’t tell
top hits soft and want to grab again
noise of inside outside holds on to skinny warm
