I know you dislike statistics
but the missing variable
was only ever us
and if I could play
the perfect instrument
transcribe a rhapsody in volition
to sax or cello or flute
then I would be closer
to the reclaimed harmonics
of words to sounds
an arrangement of years
in an ascension that winds itself
says let’s fall by unused notes
within the new composure
of all these discoveries
